I know I have not been posting up much book reviews, I apologise for that. If you want to look through my previous reviews, do use the category at the side bar :)
Right, I'll be talking about how I got into reading, book blogging, editing and all that jazz!
I've been reading since I learnt how to read!
Of course, I started off with fairytales before moving on to Enid Blyton to Archie Comics to Mary-Kate & Ashley series to Roald Dahl to Sophie Kinsella to Harry Potter Fanfics and finally to where I am right now :) I am also a regular reader of mangas.
How did you get into reading YA, NA, GLBT, Erotica and Romance?
About 3 years ago, I found fanfiction.net, which was where I started reading Harry Potter fanfics (and found all my favourite pairings), and wattpad, where I started reading romance stories of all sorts. I've read about 1000 stories on fanfiction.net and 300 stories on wattpad thus far.
I only started reading works by indie authors when I came across Shayne McClendon's page. She was giving out free copies of "Being Delightful", which was an absolute delight to read! From there, it just snowballed out of control.
How did you get into book blogging?
I'd say it all started with "Being Delightful" by Shayne McClendon (yes I'm absolutely crazy over her), me wanting to express my love/thoughts for it, and get more people to know about and read it.
I was quite worried at first as to how I was supposed to start up and run my blog, get followers and all that jazz. But I realised it didn't really matter that much as long as I enjoyed what I did. Shayne actually encouraged me as well, and so I went ahead with it. So I pretty much started my blog and began reviewing all the books I've read thus far.
I understand how tough it can be for authors to get their works out there and be recognised, I've been in the music industry. And so I wanted to use this blog to help spread their amazing works :)
How did you get into editing?
When I was 14, I had an amazing English teacher and along with all the reading I've been doing, I fell in love with writing. I enjoyed writing compositions and letting my imagination run wild, though I'm not necessarily author material but I'm decent. From there, I started giving my friends ideas about their stories as well as helping them edit their work. Recently, I've been helping writers on wattpad edit their work to gain more experience.
If you have any question you'd like to ask me, comment on this post or drop me an email or tweet! I'll be sure to get back to you.
