Title: Unbalanced (#4 of No Rival) Author: Charity Parkerson Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance, Erotica, Sports, MMA Rating: ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ Amazon US | Ellora's Cave | iBooks Goodreads |
Using unmatched skill and intelligence, Kurt captures the attention of every partner he desires. His ability to confuse his prey keeps them captivated. This trick has never failed him. That is, until he meets McKenna.
As an author, McKenna has gone to great lengths to ensure the details of her erotic books are airtight. When Kurt challenges one of her scenes, she doesn’t hesitate to take up his offer to prove his theory.
The bad boy MMA fighter appeals to her on every level. Kurt’s intelligence stimulates her mind even as his touch sets her body on fire. In spite of those things, McKenna has no intention of adding her name to his list of ex-lovers.
McKenna’s odd behavior exasperates Kurt. She is an addiction he cannot shake. But somehow the two of them make the combination of his OCD logic and her unbalanced nature work.
Inside Scoop: There are a couple hot but brief male/male encounters as well as a handcuff scene that may have you reaching for the fan.

The man was going to kill her. He wouldn't even need to lift a finger against her. Apparently, her body was too stupid to keep working in his presence.
"Girl, you might want to wear some granny panties too, to be safe."
Tearing her eyes away from the door, McKenna focused on the mocha-skinned chocolate-eyed twenty-something male sitting at the table across from her who'd spoken up. He flipped the page on his magazine, even though his gaze was locked on her.
"I could hide, get lost between now and then or buy a chastity belt."
"Honey, A man like that owns a flashlight, a road map and lock pick set."
One thing I'm gonna complain about is the lack of backstory on Kurt and McKenna. If I could have more glimpses into their life and what had left them so broken, I would have been able to fall in love with them more. (If that made any sense). It's just that I think for most of the stories in No Rival, there is just a distinctive lack of backstory for each character and I feel that it takes away from what we, as readers, get and feel from the book. I would have loved to know what made Kurt what he is now. It would have been nice to have a longer ending and epilogue. It seemed a little rush.
Nonetheless, I LOVE KURT AND MCKENNA <3 McKenna is quirky, hilarious, a little crazy but awesome.
The moment she pushed open the club's door, he overcame her. McKenna's feet left the ground. A squeak left her lips in her surprise. Cradling her to his chest as he would a child, Kurt's stride never slowed. Every line of his face was hard and he wouldn't look at her. She was almost scared to speak. Sneaking a glance over his shoulder, she caught a glimpse of Brian's smiling face. Obviously, he intended to let Kurt kidnap her.
A hint of rebellion rose inside her. "I didn't say it was your baby." He growled. Actually growled. She could feel the vibration of the sound from his chest. "It is but I didn't say as much," she grumbled childishly.
And I love how McKenna is when she is around Asher! It's alright girl. I would definitely love to climb him like a money as well!
"Come here. Seriously," Rhys added when she didn't move. Asher shook his head but he was smiling as he made room for her to stand between them. The closer she got the harder it become for her to hold back.
"Wow," she said, leaning in to get a better whiff. "How the hell do you resist him?"
Asher's eyes twinkled with suppressed humour while the two of them exclaimed over his cologne. "You are both quite outrageous. Whatever shall I do with the two of you for the entire night?"
"I know, right?" Rhys winked as he added, "I'm a lucky guy."
She smelled Asher's jacket again. Her mind went fuzzy as a memory pricked at her brain. "I know what it is. You're a chocolate-covered cinnamon apple."
Asher released a low chuckle. "how did someone as refreshing as you end up with this rough bunch tonight?"
