Rainer Torrence is everything I could have wanted in my life and more.
He became my best friend when I was Thirteen years old.
From then on, we were inseparable. He was my first love and my first heartbreak.
But I always thought it was forever.
Until his Father died and things went bad.
Then suddenly, he disappeared.
Ten years and I didn’t see or hear from him.
Then came the call I’d be praying for– he was back in town.
Only the man I remembered is not him.
This man is quiet, deadly, and so incredibly beautiful.
He also doesn’t remember me.
He looks into my eyes, and he sees nothing.
Nothing.
So, I let him believe I’m just a girl that walked into his bar.
I let him believe I’m just a friend.
I let him use me on the cold, dark nights.
I let him believe that I am as emotionless about our relationship as he is.
I just let the secret go on and on.
But all secrets have an end, don’t they?
I have no idea what I just got myself into, but I have a feeling it wasn't the right path to take.
Heart wrenching stuff! Again like in Flawed Heart, Flawed Love goes between the past and the present. I do love seeing them together when they were younger. They had an interesting relationship. A friendship that blossomed into love.
I think I might have just crossed the friendship line without even knowing it.
But with all good things, bad things happen.
In the present, Mali learns that Rainer does have feelings for someone else. It breaks her to know this because she hasn't been able to move on from him. But there is something about her that makes Rainer want more. Not just a one night stand. However, there are basically three of them in this relationship. Something that Mali can't handle. And who could blame her?
I absolutely love The House of Obsidian series! It was heart breaking but so hauntingly beautiful. Despite all the pain, suffering and time between, love manages to remain and give hope. Bella Jewel has done a fantastic job. I can't wait to see what she has planned next :)
