Captor and captive. Lovers. Soul mates.
We’re all that and more.
We thought we were past the worst of it. We thought we finally had a chance.
We thought wrong.
We’re Nora and Julian, and this is our story.
Despite his need to cause pain, Julian does have softer moments:
Tonight, more than ever, I want to protect her, heal her from the wounds she should've never sustained. I want to be her hero, her savior.
For just one night, I want to be the husband of her dreams.
Seemingly normal events make for a great contrast to the darker tones of the story. I did love the funny moments between Nora and Rosa where they are discussing her crush on Lucas. They are acting like normal young women which is fun. And dinner with the in laws was quite the event. The girls lunch back home was also a fun situation to watch. However, there is a niggling doubt in Nora's mind:
My dad hit the nail on the head.
Is Julian capable of love?
Truthfully, I still don't know.
Breaks your heart really. Nora isn't sure about Julian's feelings for her despite the fact that she loves him so much. But Julian does ensure that Nora has everything she could ever possibly want or need. It seems his relationship with her has softened him to some extent.
Nora and Julian's path is not easy and once again, they are faced with danger.
